Adventure All Year with Chamonix Lodg

Chamonix Mont Blanc is the home of winter sports and hosted the first ever Winter Olympics Games back in 1924.  Chamonix is so much more than a ski resort, being a substantial sized mountain town nestled at the foot of Mont Blanc.

Because of this amazing location there are activities to do all year round, in fact some local residents will tell you there is so much more to do in the summer than the winter and with high average temperatures what’s not to like!

Chamonix offers five ski areas (Le Tour; Grand Montets; La Flégère; Brevent and Les Houches) as well as the off-piste heaven of the Aiguille du Midi along with the neighbouring resorts of Courmayeur in Italy and Verbier in Switzerland.

All ability levels are catered for so you are sure to find some challenging skiing to suit your needs throughout your stay. The vast majority of the skiing is above 2,000m and the snow record is good even in early and late season. With the highest peaks in Western Europe looming over the valley, the scenery is second to none.

Outside of downhill skiing there are plently of other activities including ice climbing; cross country skiing; dog sledding; snow shoeing; ski touring; ice skating; glacier walking; cable car rides (Aiguille du Midi and Grand Montets); scenic train rides (Montenvers Mer de Glace) and much more.

Summer in Chamonix with Chamonix Lodge

Chamonix in the summertime is truly a lovely place. The atmosphere is much more relaxed and the cafe and restaurant culture comes outside. The centre of the town provides plenty of opportunity for ‘Al Fresco’ dining and socialising in the warm sunny conditions that you can expect in mid summer.

Being at the foot of Mont Blanc, Chamonix is a haven for alpinists with many options for climbing throughout the valley as well as glacier walks and hiking together with trail running and mountain biking. Chamonix enjoys a fantastic summer climate of hot sunny days sometimes coupled with a gentle mountain breeze, and you can expect the occasional welcome thunder storm to clear the air.

The number of activities you can participate in while in Chamonix is world renowned and we work with a local partner, Evolution 2. If you want to book onto any specific activities, please have a look at their summer or winter programmes to read what is on offer.
